COVID-19 Protocols

 UPDATED AS AT NOVEMBER 24, 2020

 

Palm Beach is NOT a quarantine facility! Use of any Units for the purpose of quarantine has been expressly prohibited by the Board of Management.

 

  ENTRY PROTOCOLS:

  • All persons coming in or out of Palm Beach must enter/exit through the main entrance. No access through side/beach gates other than in-house persons using the beach. SANITIZATION OF HANDS WILL BE MANDATORY UPON ENTRY FOR STAFF, GOODS AND SERVICES SUPPLIERS AND DOMESTIC WORKERS AND ANCILLIARY STAFF.
  • Contact tracing details will be taken for all persons entering Palm Beach. Short-Term Guests will only need to provide this information at the beginning of their stay. All Residents’ information will be kept on file.
  • Temperature readings will be taken for every person entering Palm Beach. In the event that a person has a temperature in excess of 38 Celsius or 100.6 Fahrenheit, they will be subjected to a secondary temperature check. Where the individual’s temperature remains elevated, they will be denied entry to the property and their information logged. If an employee or an outside contractor their supervisor/ employer will be contacted. If they are a resident of Palm Beach they must proceed directly to their unit and follow the section below entitled “POSITIVE/SUSPECTED COVID-19 CASES”.
  • Third-party non-affiliated service suppliers (e.g. deliveries arranged by guests/residents) are not to make direct deliveries to guest rooms. Guests/Residents shall receive such goods at the entrance to the lobby and clean and disinfect those goods appropriately.
  • Whilst on Property all persons must minimize touch points as far as possible.
  • Physical Distancing of 3ft minimum must be observed at all times by all persons on the Property not within the same household.
  • MASKS MUST BE WORN BY ALL PERSONS UPON ENTRY TO THE PROPERTY.

     

 HYGIENE PROTOCOLS:

  • Cover the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a tissue, or cough and sneeze into your bent elbow.
  • Immediately dispose of the tissue within waste receptacles and wash or sanitize hands thoroughly.
  • Wash hands using soap and water for at least 20 seconds and apply the proper hand washing technique.
  • A hand sanitizer with a minimum of 70% alcohol must be used when sanitizing hands.

 

   COMMON AREA PROTOCOLS:

   GYM:

  • Where possible, outdoor exercise is encouraged
  • Persons using gym will be required to sign in and hand sanitize using the dispensers provided
  • Gym occupancy is limited to 40 square feet per person of usable floor space. Only those persons that are actually exercising should be inside the facility.
  • The gym will be sanitized twice a day by Palm Beach Staff, once in the morning and then again after lunch.
  • Sanitize equipment you are going to be using before and after each use, with spray bottle and paper towels provided.
  • No more than 4 persons from the same Unit are allowed in the gym together. If you are not from the same Unit then there is a limit of 3 persons.
  • Masks are not required to be worn while exercising or training but should be worn whilst waiting to use equipment. Please bear in mind to social distance as much as possible.
  • Gym equipment has been repositioned to ensure social distancing.
  • Please do not use the gym if you are feeling ill.

   POOL:

  • Physical Distancing within the Pools themselves is also required – Unless within the same household, Guests/Residents should not enter the pool if there are already persons in the pool and the required distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Tables and chairs have been arranged in accordance with social distancing protocols
  • Hand sanitizing stations are positioned around the pool deck
  • Pool furniture is sanitized twice per day

   ELEVATORS:

  • Elevators are not to be shared with persons from different households
  • Staff are not to be in the same elevator as residents/guests
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been installed at all landings and must be used before and after riding the Elevators
  • Elevators are sanitized twice per day

 

   POSITIVE / SUSPECTED COVID-19 CASES:

  • Positive COVID-19 tests – if a resident/guest of Palm Beach takes a COVID-19 test, returns to the property, and is subsequently advised that he or she has tested positive for the coronavirus, he / she is to REMAIN IN THEIR UNIT, ISOLATE FROM ANY OTHER MEMBERS OF THEIR HOUSEHOLD, AND AWAIT THE ADVICE OF THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS who will arrange to take them to one of the Government’s quarantine centers or as may be otherwise advised.
  • If any guest/resident of Palm Beach fails the temperature check on entering the property or feels unwell or develops symptoms which they believe may be associated with COVID- 19 they shall remain in their Unit and make contact with Property Management and the Ministry of Health and Wellness before moving around the Property any further. They shall consult with their doctor and report all findings to Property Management as soon as possible.

 

 EMPLOYEE PROTOCOLS:

 

  • All employees must enter/exit through main entrance. No access through side/beach gates
  • Employees are encouraged to have separate working clothes from those which they commute to work in.
  • All employees’ temperatures are to be taken upon entry and logged
  • Any employee who reports for work and has a temperature more than 38 Celsius or 100.60 Fahrenheit, will not be permitted on the property or will be transported directly to the isolation area referenced below.
  • Employees shall not report to work if they are feeling unwell, including a fever, respiratory symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath, or loss of the sense of taste or smell. If in doubt, they should contact their doctor or the COVID-19 hotline
  • Employees who are suspected or confirmed of having contracted COVID-19 shall not return to work unless certified by a Medical Health Officer
  • All employees must wash their hands with soap upon entering Palm Beach
  • All employees will be required to wash their hands with soap upon entering/exiting lunchroom
  • Employees are required to use the hand sanitizing stations throughout the property as often as possible
  • Employees who are involved in cleaning shall follow the Government issued Guidelines for routine cleaning and sanitizing for infectious diseases. If you have not received a copy, please alert management immediately.
  • Employees are working a two-shift system to ensure social distancing in key areas such as the staff quarters, lunch room, etc.
  • Clocking in/out: each employee will clock in/out separately. Only 1 person allowed in building at a time. Employees will line up outside the building, keeping social distancing protocols
  • Employees are encouraged not to leave Palm Beach during the day, especially during break/lunch. Every time you leave, you take the risk of getting infected and bringing the virus back with you increases. Please bring your lunch/snacks/drinks with you to avoid leaving the property
  • Where physical distancing is not practical, employees will wear face masks whenever moving around the property and particularly when interacting with guests/residents or each other. Any additional PPE equipment provided by Management must be utilized.
  • Employees are always to practice social distancing (unless it is impractical)
  • Employees are not to congregate in the staff quarters, workshop or container, especially in the lunchroom or lockers
  • Only 2 employees are allowed in an elevator together, and with no resident/guest
  • Masks will be supplied by Palm Beach; no other mask will be allowed unless expressly directed by Management. Single use masks must be discarded after each use. Cloth masks must be laundered at the end of each use. No mask must be worn for more than four hours at a time and should be changed if it becomes damp.
  • If an Employee feels unwell while at work, they will be taken to the Conference Room Annex, which is a private, isolated area for secondary temperature checks and the COVID- 19 hotline will be contacted if necessary
  • If a guest/resident has a suspected COVID-19 infection, the areas which such person has come into contact with will be closed off and not used until the areas have been cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected. If possible, wait for 24 hours to clean, sanitize and disinfect. If waiting 24 hours is not possible, wait as long as you can.

 

GENERAL:

  • Handrails in stairwells and garbage door handles are sanitized twice per day
